Tiznit is a town located in the Souss region, 99 km from Agadir. The city was founded in 1882 by the Alaouite Sultan Hassan I who endowed it, in 1883, with a long wall that is still encircling the old medina.

Tiznit is a historical city known for its rich Amazigh heritage. The silver industry makes a large part of it, which is growing year by year to become a real component of the city's economy. In the old Medina, there are more than 150 stores dedicated to the sale of silver products, offering a wide variety of collections.
